Adventures in Photoshop

I decided to design my own layout for the new blog design, and since our Orchid tree is in bloom, I used my own image for the header and background. I have Adobe Photoshop Elements, a simplifed (and cheaper) version of Photoshop. I used this program to modify my original picture and make my header. Here's the images as I worked on them:

Original Picture:

During editing - with purple background. This part took the longest, to select all the pixels I wanted to be purple:
After editing - I used the effect Sketch Stamp:
Final product - added a flipped image to the right side of the text:


And there you have it, my header!

That's cool, I did not know that you did it like that! I just figured it was a pre designed tree, not your own. :)

Very nice! I am learning PS Elements, so I'll have to play around with some photos and see what I can come up with for my Etsy and blog pages. :)
